Our free consultation appointments last around an hour, and they’ll begin with a one-on-one interview between you and our staff. This interview allows us to get to know more about you and your primary concerns.
After we’ve gone over your medical history and need for physical therapy, we’ll then customize a treatment plan that’s specifically tailored toward you and your unique needs. This also means that we’ll help you determine your recovery goals and expectations, as well as what comes next.
Depending upon the patient, treatment might start during the consultation session.
We’re incredibly proud of our team, and all of our experts are Doctors of Physical Therapy, certified personal trainers, orthopedic specialists, strength and conditioning experts, Masters of Athletic Training, certified nutrition coaches and/or Masters of Exercise Science.
We’ve truly done our homework in terms of compiling the very best physical therapy experts throughout Brooklyn and all of NYC, so you can rest assured that you’ll be working closely with a specialist that has many years of experience.
It’s important to note that we don’t believe in the myopic motto no pain, no gain.
We make sure that our patients are as comfortable as possible while they’re rehabbing their injuries, and this directly coincides with keeping patients on track toward meeting their PT goals.
Although it’s likely that some exercises and movements could be difficult at first, we’ll make sure that you’re staying focused on the end goal of safely and successfully re-strengthening your body.
We also provide all sorts of hands-on treatments that support pain management, and we’ll teach you how to cope with any discomfort in between visits as well.
At PhysioRX, yes; however, we can’t speak for the practices at other PT clinics.
But at our clinic, we highly value provider-patient relationships because we understand how important it is for our specialists to thoroughly understand your unique case.
Our physical therapists also keep in touch with each other and communicate patient needs in the event that one of our staff members isn’t available for their patient’s appointment.
In New York, patients are allowed to attend physical therapy appointments through direct access—which means they don’t necessarily need a prescription (at least at the beginning of the process).
Most health insurance policies will cover your physical therapy costs, but there are certain exceptions that might apply to your specific coverage. This is why it’s important to check with your health insurance provider to determine your coverage levels.
If you’d like to begin your physical therapy process before getting a prescription from your doctor, you can attend up to 10 visits within the first 30 days of treatment before needing a prescription.
So although you technically can begin getting physical therapy from our experts without a prescription, the odds are that you’ll quickly need a prescription in order to continue seeing the results that you’ll ultimately need!
There’s no denying just how tough it can be to get back on your feet after a serious injury, and our PT experts will help you throughout every step of your road to recovery. The above FAQs are just a mere glimpse into the countless questions that we receive from our patients, and we’re more than happy to chat with you about your specific questions and concerns.
